Horse & Halo Expands to Meridian, Unveiling Idaho’s First Equine Adoption and Education Facility to Support At-Risk Horses

Nampa, Idaho — Horse & Halo is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its second location in Meridian, Idaho, on November 1, 2024. This new facility is designed to increase the visibility of adoptable horses, expand community outreach, and offer educational programs for equine enthusiasts.

Our goal is to create a space where the public can engage with horses, gain practical knowledge, and contribute to the well-being of these amazing animals,” said Mandie Stuhan, Executive Director of Horse & Halo. “This facility is about more than just rescuing horses; it’s about building relationships that positively impact both the animals and the people who love them.

Firsthand Equine Experience

A key feature of the Meridian facility is the opportunity for the public to enjoy guided tours and meet adoptable horses. Whether you’re out for a Saturday drive and want to “see the horses” or you’re a potential adoption partner looking to make a meaningful connection, this innovative approach allows visitors to safely interact with available horses and learn about their stories, temperaments, and care firsthand.

Resources and Equine Education

In addition to its adoption program, the Meridian location will serve as a hub for equine education. A wide range of workshops will be offered, designed to equip community members with valuable knowledge and hands-on experience, fostering a deeper understanding of horses and their care.

A Community Effort Built on Support and Volunteerism

The successful expansion of Horse & Halo into Meridian was made possible through the dedication of local volunteers and generous donations of supplies from Habitat for Humanity ReStore, along with the support of a property owner who believes in their mission. Volunteers remain at the heart of Horse & Halo’s operations, ensuring that every horse receives exceptional care while fostering a sense of community.

Supporting the Mission

Proceeds from horse adoptions, clinics, and other activities directly support Horse & Halo’s mission. These funds are essential in retraining, rehoming, and providing long-term care to horses in need, giving each animal a well-deserved second chance at a fulfilling life.
